Dear Ontario Lacrosse Community
Lacrosse has been an important part of Upper Canada College (UCC) since 1867 when the first high school field lacrosse games were played in Ontario. This weekend, UCC will host three Division I NCAA teams, the Team Ontario Program and a CLA Coaching Certification Clinic (Friday evening/Saturday). The details are:
Sunday October 13th, 2019
- 10:00AM UMass versus Rutgers University
- 12:00PM Rutgers University versus Hobart College
- 2:00PM UMass versus Hobart College
Several recognizable players with OLA roots will be participating during these games:
- Scott Del Zotto (Orangeville)
- Zach Kearney (Halton Hills)
- Jackson Suboch (Mimico)
- Adam Charalambides (Halton Hills)
- Ethan Black-Fernandes (Toronto Beaches)
- Kyle Driscoll (Kitchener)
- Jason Knox (Huntsville)
- Justin Scott (Mimico)
- Bayley Tranmer (Newmarket)
In addition to the aforementioned field lacrosse games, the Team Ontario U14 and U15 Development Squads will be showcasing the Olympic Rules during a demonstration session on Saturday, October 12th from 9am – 12pm. All games and sessions are open to the public, and we welcome individuals in the OLA community who wish to observe as we celebrate the game.
As part of this weekend’s events, three Year 12 UCC students are collecting lacrosse equipment to be donated to a northern community with the intention of starting a lacrosse program. The attached letter provides specific details related to the equipment request; our students will graciously accept donations from fellow OLA members throughout the weekend.
Associations are encouraged to share this email with their membership to maximize its potential reach. We look forward to welcoming you to Upper Canada College’s campus in midtown Toronto (200 Lonsdale Rd., Toronto ON).
Yours in lacrosse,
