Please put your hands together and congratulate all the girls for their well deserved win last night in Orangeville. It was our last game of the regular season and they held strong to keep our Position in 3rd Place in the league. This is a wonderful and well deserved achievement especially for this being only our 3rd Season as a Team.

We won 8 out of 12 games this season with our only losses to the two top teams, Oshawa and the Beaches. Last nights game proved just how much we deserve to be in the position we are in. Every single player on the field contributed to the team and held a very strong defensive position, even when Owen Sound seemed to push back we pushed harder. Because our defense was so strong there were only 3 goals against us and those were tough goals for them to get since our Goalie played one of her best games of the season.

As the team is growing together they are now communicating more effectively and requiring little coaching which is allowing them to set

Congratulations to all the girls for working so hard yesterday with only 2 subs and in the heat against the strongest teams in the league. The girls tried their hardest and it showed.

Our goal for both of the games yesterday was to minimize the amount of goals against us to help us stay in the position we currently hold in the league. They worked hard on slowing down and taking control of the game by holding onto the ball to set up plays and minimize the amount of time the other team had possession.

As I look at the game sheets something struck me as very impressive with our team and proved to me that the goals we set for yesterday can really make a difference on how our girls play when they put those skills into practice. Lets think about the Beaches game, the first half was played much differently than the second half. The game sheet had shown just how different it was. The girls had slowed down the game which gave them extra time to make smarter decisions but also minimized how

WOW!! Thats all I can really think about when I look back on yesterdays game against Owen Sound. Thank you Lady Hawks for making it an exciting entertaining game to watch. I couldn't help myself but to jump around on the sidelines.

Many Exciting moments came about when we were seeing the girls use the skill we taught them of switching their hands on their stick, with a ball and on the run. This is a difficult skill and to see it being used consistantly and effectively yesterday was nothing short of amazing. All the players should be commended highly for taking a difficult skill like that and using it through out the game without any direction from us coaches. Way to go Girls!!

We also noted that this was by far the best game where all players were involved in every part of the game and showed this by making calls, using their voices, setting up plays and using their skills to the best of thier abilities. We had some wonderful plays being made, the girls slowed down, looked around

GO LADY HAWKS GO!! The U11 REP Season is in high swing and continues to be full of momentum as shown with yesterdays games. Even though we had a loosing game against Oshawa it still ended up being a really great learing experience for the girls. Once the girls started to understand how Oshawa played the game they started to get into position and make their own impression on the Oshawa team by playing some tough Defense and getting 7 well earned goals.

The tenacity of our players was most noticable in the next game, even after a loss against Oshawa they never faultered in thier fight to play a great game against the Beaches. It was a true nail biter, with the Beaches coming at us full force from the first whistle but quickly the girls gained thier momentum and the game went back and forth with Oakville tieing the game quickly at 8. With our defense a lot tighter and our plays a lot smarter we made it really difficult for the Beaches in the last half of the game to get their last

What a Fantastic start the season for the U-11 girls REP Team. All the girls came out to play this past Sunday May 27th for their first games of the season with high spirits and loads of enthusiasm. We have a great mix of players this year with many being new to the sport of feild lacrosse but you would never know it with how well they played. We had a well rounded game with great defense, fast hussles to the ball, above average stick skills and high energy.

Both of our games started out very strong and the momentum kept going during through out the whole game which allowed us the wins against St. Catherines 8-3. This momentum carried through to our other game against Mimico with another equally impressive win of 9- 3 beating a team that last year was evenly matched with us.

The whole team should be proud of how well they played together and we as the Coaching Staff are supper proud of our team and being apart of this great organization of THE OAKVILLE LADY HAWKS---GO LADY HAWKS
