The Oakville Lady Hawks organization hosted OWL league play for the first time this past weekend, June 4th and 5th, in Oakville. Despite the extreme weather on Saturday, the event was a great success that saw U15, U19 and Senior division clubs from across the GTA competing at White Oaks S.S. North fields.
On behalf of the Oakville Lady Hawks, we would like to recognize the following spirited volunteers who helped make this host weekend possible:
Dan Campbell, Brad Beaudoin, Rachel Higgs, Steve Murray, Henrik Zbogar, Lisa Quesnelle, Darlene Zolis, Chris Zolis, Sean Doyle, Allison Child, Nancy Gordon, Kevin Gordon, Camryn McConnochie, Martin McConnochie, Steve Hayes, Stephen Taylor, Alex Harkins, Trina Keene, Tara Hamilton, and Liz Heidecker.
It is with sincere appreciation that we pass along a hearty "THANK YOU" to these individuals for their tireless efforts both on and off the field.

The 2011 Pre-Season clinics hosted by the Oakville Lady Hawks provided opportunities for all divisions - Mini-Hawks, Under 11, Under 13, Under 15 and Under 19 - to workout and learning beginning and experienced skills at the indoor fields at Burloak Sports Centre. Two fields for two hours this year made all the difference to run the clinics and host 90+ players weekly.
Guest coaches from Edge Lacrosse and Team Canada women's field programs supported Oakville coaches and players on two separate occasions. The girls loved listening to and learning from such elite athletes!

Wally Tymkiv has a dream.
“Hopefully in Oakville in years to come, there will be households where mom and dad both have lacrosse sticks,” says Tymkiv, president of the Oakville Minor Lacrosse Association (OMLA). “Where lacrosse will be a family event, rather than just for the boys.”
