At this point in time, we still require rep players that are U11 and U13 age to play house league as well. This will enable a viable house league which feeds into the rep program as well as offering our rep players an additional day of practice with their sticks in their hands. If however, the number of registrations in a division exceeds our projected numbers, we will revisit the possibility of a separate house league and rep team for that division.
As with other rep sports, to play on a rep team, a family needs to consider the level of commitment they can offer the team and take this into careful consideration before trying out and potentially taking a spot from a more committed player. We ask that once you commit to the team, that lacrosse doesn't become second to another sport the family has chosen to have their daughter involved in. Please review the information below as well as the individual rep team pages (use the blue navigation buttons to your left) to help you make this decision.
Below, you will find several pieces of useful information to help determine if rep lacrosse is appropriate for your daughter and family. Play will begin the week of April 29th and run through to the second last week of June for House League, with rep play continuing through to provincials in mid-July for U11 and U13 and August for U15 and U19. For more information on the respective rep teams, please view the Rep Commitment Survey.

Dr. Jenn Smeaton-Fryer of Dynamic Health and Perfomance here in Oakville has graciously offered to donate her time and expertise to the Lady Hawks program this season. In fact, there's a good chance you may have seen her on our fields already. She'll continue attending training sessions and games going forward. and will assess injuries if a parent it present.
I've attached below a background letter from Dynamic Health and Performance about Dr. Jenn's involvement in the program, their areas of specialty including Athletic Therapy, Physiotherapy, Chiropractic, Massage Therapy, among many others, for your review.
Please direct any questions to Dr. Jenn:

Weekly training on Wednesdays by Sean Holmes will help our rep players work on speed, agility, power, strength and proper conditioning to express those qualities throughout an entire game and season.
Sean Holmes is the trainer for the Toronto Rock Lacrosse Club and the Lady Hawks will benefit from his background and experience with lacrosse. All players will benefit from increasing their levels of athleticism. Being in better shape than your opponent can be worth a few goals a game, whether it is from being able to sprint back and catch someone on a breakaway or just winning the majority of loose balls to maintain possession.
The sessions that Sean conducts with athletes are designed to build them up to be better lacrosse players. Weekly sessions will include a dynamic warm up, speed and agility training, basic strenth/core strength and power training and conditioning.
Each player on the team can expect to improve in all these areas, helping to create a better lacrosse player. The sessions will be tough but fun, helping the players bond in working towards a common goal of improving the team as a whole.
Rep Teams are encouraged to engage in Fundraising to off-set the cost of the rep assessment fees and to lower overall costs. Each team will be reponsible for their own fundraising efforts and work in liason with Michelle Loucks, our treasurer, to have the monies flow through the OMLA and back to the rep teams.
Each rep player will be dedicating some time on one day (dates/times to be announced) for league fundraising as well. Last year for example, we held two fundraising dates at LCBO which offset the cost of our storage container as well as some funds to each rep team.
Sponsorship is also an opportunity to help offset the cost of the rep assessment fee for your daughter and/or team. If you have secured sponsorship, please contact Tanya Tymkiv, Rep Director, for a sponsorship form.
This year, Rep Fees will be assessed to each rep team shortly after tryouts. The fee will help to cover the costs of:
Reimbursements will be made if the initial rep fee exceeds actual budget.
Tentative Rep Assessment Fee Structure:
** The supplier has yet to confirm our costs, but a REP KIT will be purchased by each rep player consisting of a reversible pinnie and socks. We are estimating that the cost of this kit will be approximate $60.00.
** Players new to the rep program will be asked to purchase a BRINE Lady Hawks stick bag so as to maintain a "uniform" look amongst teams, and one that represents Oakville Lady Hawks Field Lacrosse.
