At an OWL Special General Meeting held on January 18, 2004, club members approved the following CLA Recommendation:
"As of January 1, 2005, only sticks that have been approved by the IFWLA will be allowed in the in CLA sanctioned events."
The IFWLA has been superceded by the FIL. The official FIL APPROVED CROSSES is continually updated and can be viewed to the right.
Crosses (Sticks) should be about 90-110 cm in length from the end of the head to the butt end. End caps are included in the overall length of the crosse. Which end of the range will depend on the size of your daughter.
Junior players who are under the age of 15 can use crosses that are smaller than 90 cm in length. Take the butt end and place it under your daughter's armpit and stretch her arm along the shaft. The distance between the end of her fingers and the end of the head could be taken off the stick to be a more manageable and comfortable size to work with.
Protective eyewear (goggles) must be worn by players in the Oakville Lady Hawks. As a guideline for purchasing goggles, the list of goggles approved by Oakville Lady Hawks is provided in the document to the right.
For U-11 play, the Oakville Lady hawks currently use the Warrior Soft Ball. All other levels should refer to the information in Approved Lacrosse balls to your right.
