The Oakville Minor Lacrosse Association – Home of the Hawks and the Lady Hawks.
  • When does the season run?
    • Early April to end of June
  • Who can play lacrosse?
    • We offer 7 different programs for boys and girls aged 3 to 16.
  • Can we try it before signing up for the season?
    • Yes!  We offer skill development clinics on Saturdays November to March.  This drop-in program teaches the fundamentals of the game in a non-contact, non-competitive setting and is geared for beginners.
  • What do you mean by "non-contact"?
    • Essentially, there will be no cross-checks in any division.
    • Stick checks will be allowed in varying degrees from Tyke to Midget
    • Blocking (pushing) will be allowed in varying degrees from Peewee to Midget
  • What equipment do you need?
    • All players Peanut to Midget need helmets with cage, lacrosse (or hockey) gloves and lacrosse stick
    • Paperweight also need shoulder pads
    • Tyke to Midget need shoulder pads, kidney pads, arm guards, jock and mouth guard
  • The website says that they play both box and field but the registration only gives the option of box.  Is there somewhere else to register for field?
    • Although the program is called "Boys Box House League", both boys and girls can register and they play box and field.
  • Can you please clarify the schedule - are there mid-week practices in addition to the field sessions?
    • The only mid-week sessions will be for field lacrosse.
    • Players will play box on Saturdays and field on either Tuesday or Thursday.
    • There will be one mid-week practice on Wednesday or Thursday for Tyke to Bantam in June to prepare for the Tournament.  This will take place after the field season.
    • Tyke to Bantam players will have a short pre-game box practice/warm-up weekly on Saturdays.
