The OMLA House League program is designed to introduce and promote the sport of lacrosse in a fun, friendly and competitive environment.
The season will begin with assessments on April 14, 2018 and end on June 16, 2018
perfect for families that prefer to spend the summer at the cottage!
**NEW in 2018**
Contact is Back!
Based on the overwhelming majority of feedback submitted, we are re-introducing contact to our House League program. Coaches will introduce players to the proper techniques of contact in box lacrosse – both giving and receiving. The concepts will be taught in order to develop players according to age in a safe and fun environment.
Combined Practice & Game Play
Practices & games will be held on Saturdays at Glen Abbey Recreation Centre. Players will participate in a practice followed by a game over the course of 60 minutes (Peanut & Paperweight) or 90 minutes (Tyke and up). This allows participants the opportunity to be involved in other sports and activities. Note – all players require CLA approved equipment. Interested goalies can borrow equipment provided by OMLA at no charge.
House League is offered for all ages from Peanut (2014/2015), Paperweight (2012/2013), Tyke (2010/2011), Novice (2009/2008), Peewee (2007/2006), Bantam (2005/2004) and Midget (2003/2002) House League divisions. All divisions require a minimum of 4 teams in order to run and have a competitive spirit. We try to provide House League opportunities for older players (e.g. Bantam, Midget) however, registration numbers do not always make that possible. So, tell your friends and register now!
PLAY WITH A FRIEND
OMLA strives to create balanced and fair teams for the enjoyment of all participants. That said, we will make every effort to accommodate up to two 'friend requests' but are unable to guarantee requests can be fulfilled. Please have both participants email email@example.com and indicate full names and division of play along with the request.
Make memories that will last a lifetime! Volunteer to coach, assist on the bench or be a group convener! We are seeking parent volunteers to enhance the experience of organized sport for all players. No experience necessary and training will be provided. Please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org to inquire or volunteer today!
